Summerhill Whole Home Renovation: A Three-Floor Victorian Rebuild
Project Overview
This Summerhill project is one of our most complete builds: a full three-floor whole home renovation of a classic Toronto Victorian, rebuilt from the studs while keeping the character that makes these homes special. We took on the entire house, every floor and every room, including new bathroom renovations on each level, with one team owning it from start to finish. Like every project, it began with a photorealistic 3D design so the homeowners could see the finished home before we built it.
Main floor
Original Fireplace, Open-Concept Living
We kept the home's original fireplace and framed it with new built-ins, then opened the level front to back for a bright, modern flow that walks out to the back garden. The floor is laid in a herringbone hardwood-look tile, heated throughout, and a new black-and-white staircase ties the space to the rest of the home.
Second floor
Two Bedrooms and Two Marble Bathrooms
This is where the home lives day to day: two bedrooms and two full bathrooms, all rebuilt from the studs. The primary bedroom has a built-in closet, the second bedroom is finished to the same standard, and the bathrooms pair marble-look tile with a walk-in glass shower in one and a combined tub and shower in the other. Heated herringbone floors run through the bedrooms and hall.
Third floor
Spa Bathroom and a Steam Shower
The top floor holds two bright bedrooms and a spa-style bathroom built around a walk-in steam shower with a built-in bench. Marble-look tile and brass fixtures finish the bathroom, and the heated floors continue here too, like on every level of the home. One bedroom features a wood-clad accent wall and ceiling that adds warmth and character to the top of the house.
